Petition · past parliament

Stop the UK government dealing with Bahrain until they change their LGBTQ laws.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

We as a people and government should not be doing business or have any dealings with countries who's views on LGBTQ rights are so opposed to our own. If this becomes policy it should then be extended to any country who violate the rights of their LGBTQ community.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

There are already petitions calling for action against countries with poor LGBT rights records, including Brunei, which you might like to sign if they call for something you want to happen:

Call for an end to LGBT human rights violations in Brunei.

Ask the Commonwealth of Nations to expel Brunei

Close the UK Military base in Brunei and withdraw all UK personnel.

Ban the Sultan of Brunei from the UK over plans to stone to death gay people

The UK should sever all political and commercial ties with Brunei
