Make the minimum wage for people under 18 the same as people’s above 21!

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Some people under the age of 18 do the exact same job as people 21 and over and get paid half as much. Some 17 year olds still have a house to run with bills to pay, how can they juggle college and work enough hours at £4.35 and still run a house. Some school leavers also have children! Is it fare?
How would you feel if you had to bring up a child in total poverty or sacrifice your entire future in order to keep living? Some school leavers have to do this! It’s not right. School leavers do the same job and get paid half as much as adults, even though they are in the same situation. It’s not possible to be in full time education and work a full time job at the same time, so their education is massively effected by their hourly rate. If the minimum wage was the same it’s possible to do both.
