Make it a criminal act for MPs to vote against their constituents.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

For long enough our MP have voted against the public's wishes following referendums. It is time that they became truly accountable to the voting public. If MP had to vote inline with their constituents this whole debacle over Brexit would not exist because the people would have true representation.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because it's not the UK Government or Parliament's responsibility to criminalise someone's political beliefs or decisions.

You might like to sign this petition instead, which would allow an MPs' constituents to recall their MP if they feel they are not acting in their best interests:

Allow constituents to vote to remove an MP whenever necessary
