Support the UK Green New Deal Bill

What the petition asks
All government's first responsibility is to protect its people. The UK Government is clearly not doing this in respect to the current climate crisis.. Given the urgency of the situation as described by the IPCC we need to put the climate crisis at the top of the political agenda.
The Green New Deal or 'Decarbonisation and Economic Strategy Bill' would place duties on ministers to introduce a radical 10-year strategy for public investment designed to decarbonise the economy and eradicate inequality. It would require ministers to empower communities and workers to transition from high-carbon to low and zero-carbon industries, introduce stricter environmental regulations and protect and restore natural habitats.
