Free Julian Assange

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

Julian Assange is a journalist, he has blown the whistle on misdoings in Afghan and Iraq by Governments. He should not be condemned for advising citizens on Government actions. Condemning him is gagging free speech.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This is a decision for the courts, which are independent of the UK Parliament and Government.
