What the petition asks
The Overseas Electors Bill, a private member’s bill sponsored by Glyn Davies MP, passed its third reading in the House of Commons on 22 March 2019. It has yet to go to the House of Lords.
Given that a second referendum on EU membership is frequently mooted, the signatories of this petition ask that the parliamentary procedures be accelerated to ensure that the Overseas Electors Bill passes through the remaining stages swiftly to re-enfranchise Britons abroad in time for any new vote.
