Stop TV/Telecom/Energy companies from increasing your contract when in mid term

What the petition asks
Too many companies believe they have a right to increase a consumer prices when in contract. For example each year companies currently have a right to increase your price by 2% inline with inflation even though this wasn't the price you contractually agreed to pay. The price you agree is the price.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. Regulation of media and telecommunications contracts is the responsibility of Ofcom, which, while accountable to Parliament, is independent of both the Government and Parliament.
