Petition · past parliament

Stop people / parties that are anti EU from standing in the EU elections.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Being a member of the EU is a national decision, not an EU one, and as such should only be pursued in the national political arena. MEP's are there to represent the views of the electorate regarding EU legislation not that the UK should be part of the EU in the first place.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because it's not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament to ban political parties from participating in elections because of their views.
