Prevent English Oaks being felled to rebuild Notre Dame

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Due to human destruction of forests there is a lack of trees of sufficient size in France to fulfil the demands of the rebuilding work. Estates have pledged trees from Britain in lieu. Please prevent this from happening and encourage the French Government to rebuild using sustainable materials.
This is a clear sign of the global environmental crisis facing us now and presents an opportunity to recognise human involvement in climate change and make an iconic example of sustainability.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This is a decision for the estates themselves. You could raise the issue directly with them.
