Petition · past parliament
Make EU Treaty changes/new Directives inapplicable to the UK.

What the petition asks
We, the undersigned, are concerned that any changes to EU Treaties during the Brexit extension will oblige the UK to undertake related obligations despite the fact that the UK is leaving the bloc.
We therefore demand that the Government immediately bring forward legislation to enshrine in UK law that any changes to EU Treaties or any new rules, regulations and Directives that are introduced during the Brexit negotiations will NOT apply to the UK.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. The Brexit negotiations have been going for more than two years. We aren't sure when you would like this to come into force.
You could start a new petition stating that the Government should commit to repealing all EU legislation agreed during the negotiation period when the UK leaves the EU if that is something you would like to see happen.
