What the petition asks
Currently there are no regulations imposed on salons or beauticians who carry out beauty treatments such as Botox or Lip fillers.
Salons aren't required to obtain compulsory insurance. There is no recognised training provider or industry council to ensure minimum safety standards.
Salons aren't required to obtain compulsory insurance. There is no recognised training provider or industry council to ensure minimum safety standards.
This is an unregulated industry.
There are urgent safety concerns regarding treatment being offered with a significant increase in customers suffering injuries:- some of which are life threatening due to poor, inadequate or dangerous treatment.
Customers have no guidance when trying to select a suitable salon as there is no recognised kite mark.
The cosmetic treatment industry is growing rapidly and it is therefore imperative the government acts immediately to impose safety regulation.
