What the petition asks

Over the last century, carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have risen dramatically, 60 years ago, there was roughly 315ppm of carbon dioxide, now however there’s over 400ppm. That’s an increasing of nearly 30%. This is having an impact on all aspects of the life on a global scale.
As said by Sir David Attenborough, we have just 20 years (At most) to change our ways before we hit a tipping point. It is at this point that we will have triggered an irreversible chain of events that will become the start of the end of life as we know it.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about climate change, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

You may also wish to sign one of these petitions:

Establish a dedicated Select Committee on Climate Change.
Government to set a deadline to ban the use of fossil fuels for energy/transport
Restore nature on a massive scale to help stop climate breakdown
