What the petition asks
With rising knife crime becoming an epidemic in urban areas of the UK, and recent stastistics showing knife crime at its highest level since records began- it is time for drastic action.
Many knives that are carried by gang members in places such as London, were purchased over the internet.

With the ONS showing that there was 40,829 police recorded (many more go unrecorded) offenses in 2018 involving a knife or sharp object, it is time to tackle the route cause of the knife crime epidemic in the UK, not simply treating the superficial symptoms as the Government has been doing.
Making the purchasing of knives online illegal will do immense help with the tackling of the gang violence/ culture seen within many of our cities nationally.
