To compel BBC 6Music to play My Sharona
Rejected

What the petition asks
As a BBC license-payer I feel it is incumbent upon this broadcasting institution to maintain and uphold the very highest levels of performance for the British Public. As such, I can think of no better way for the BBC to conduct itself than to play this song which is, unarguably, the best song ever.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
