What the petition asks
Was recently stopped salvaging items from a stores dumpster and skip by police. I was threatened with prosecution of 'THEFT BY FINDING' if I did not leave the area. Salvaging items should be encouraged by the government, many items can be upcycled/recycled for those in financial difficulty
Many stores today are throwing products that have been returned by a customer into their dumpsters. Most of the time the item can be repaired easily and then used, either by selling for a small fee or donating. Food items are discarded du to best before dates even though most items are still fit for consumption. The laws surrounding this action I.e trespassing, theft by finding, etc should be wavered/dismissed by laws. Protect the environment for future generations
