Appoint a Commissioner for Miscarriages of Justice

What the petition asks
The current Victims Commissioner was appointed to represent the rights of all victims, including victims of criminal false allegations. Unfortunately she has failed to do so.
I therefore propose the appointment of an independent commissioner who will represent the views of the falsely accused.

During her tenure, the Victims Commissioner's views have not represented false allegation victims.
Eg. In response to the Henriques report, the VC opposed police neutrality in investigations, and opposed the use of the term 'complainant'. (Jan '18)
This can only be remedied by an independent commissioner appointed to advocate on behalf of this special class of victims.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what you would like the Government or Parliament to do in this case. The Victims' Commissioner has the powers that you mention, and if you are unhappy with how they are carrying out their role, you could ask your Member of Parliament to raise a complaint with the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman - https://www.ombudsman.org.uk/
A new Victims' Commissioner is due to take up post later this month, so you may also want to raise any concerns with them - https://victimscommissioner.org.uk/news/dame-vera-baird-appointed-as-new-victims-commissioner/
