Set up independent panel of survivors of child sexual exploitation in Rotherham

Closed 396 signatures

What the petition asks

Create an independent panel of survivors of child sexual exploitation in Rotherham to investigate and oversee developments since child sexual abuse in Rotherham came to light. It will look at how survivors have been supported and heard in inquiries and investigations and at the resources allocated.
Public institutions have failed. Adult survivors of CSE now have to take the lead. One example: Rotherham council failed to secure adequate funds to support survivors. We believe that failure is due to a deeply flawed bid and the lack of involvement of adult survivors of CSE. The exclusion of survivors must be tackled urgently to ensure the investigations, independent inquiry and Rotherham council listen to survivors and prevent this from happening again. We need a Rotherham-centred panel now.
