Implement fully the Committee on Climate Change Net-Zero Report Recommendations

What the petition asks
The Report on how to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 from the government’s Climate Change advisers is detailed and balanced. We urge the UK’s parliaments, parties and MPs to adopt its recommendations in full, pass the necessary enactment legislation and commence implementation without delay.
Climate Change is an existential threat to us all. Substantial changes will be necessary if we are to avoid the worst of its consequences. The Committee on Climate Change Report “Net Zero: The UK’s contribution to stopping global warming” dated May 2019 identifies an ambitious but feasible way forward for the UK. Delay is simply not an option; the next decade will be critical if we are to meet the target. By showing leadership the outcomes will be better for the UK and hopefully for the planet.
