Cancel the VAT rise on renewable energy resources

What the petition asks
"Although parliament declared a climate emergency earlier this month, rates for fossil fuels including gas and coal will remain at 5 per cent, while materials for some renewables will see tax rises of 15 per cent." Increasing VAT on renewable energies is not compatible with the climate crisis.
The Independent wrote about this decision here - https://www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change-solar-panels-vat-government-fossil-fuels-sian-berry-a8906361.html
And the UK has the biggest subsidies for fossil fuels in the EU - https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/jan/23/uk-has-biggest-fossil-fuel-subsidies-in-the-eu-finds-commission
We are in a climate crisis and the time to act is now. Making renewables more expensive makes no sense.
