Scrap community first responders mobile phones, PPE issued airwave radio instead

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Most CFR’s (Community first responders) are issued mobile phones from the ambulance services they volunteer for, front line paid staff can’t work without 2 airwave radios. (1 each) airwave radio should be issued to volunteer groups to help support PPE. Why get treated differently to front line staff
Mobile phones can’t be used in a emergency situation. Airwave radio has emergency red button on the top of the radio that is pushed if staff are attacked or in serious danger. Airwave radio is also tracked by the ambulance control room, so any emergency. You are able to be located straight away. Mobile phone you can’t. Help keep us lifesaving volunteers safe.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This would be a decision for individual ambulance services, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could start a petition asking the Government to fund a roll-out of airwave radios to all ambulance trusts in England, if that is what you would like to see happen.
