A law to make a hit and run after hitting a cat or dog with a vehicle illegal

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

After an incident that has happened in the past week, my cat has been unable to walk due to a hit and run incident with a car. No effort was made to contact the owners, a veterinary practice, RSPCA or even someone in the neighbourhood.
As a result of this incident and my cat being unable to return home for 3 days, he has sustained further injuries due to selfishness and carelessness of a particular road user, resulting in hundreds of pounds of vet bills.
This petition is to draw attention to this issue and prevent this from happening to other household pets and their owners.
