What the petition asks
Road transport is a major contributor to CO2 emissions and poor air quality; these are critical issues which contribute massively to climate change. The longer we leave reducing these emissions the more painful remedial measures will have to be, both in cost and impact on daily life.
This Petition requests Government to immediately reduce the National speed limit to 65 MPH on motorways and dual carriageways. This modest, low cost, reduction could make a worthwhile cut in CO2 emissions with the added benefit of reducing collisions and the stress of driving.
We each can do our bit to avoid a climate emergency so please sign my petition as a reminder to government our planet needs help now!
