What the petition asks
Move responsibility for the law on abortion from NI to UK Parliament. Responsibility is devolved to the Northern Ireland Assembly which is currently not sitting.This petition is to move responsibility back to UK Parliament, so a petition to change the law to align with the rest of the UK can be made
As NI is part of the UK, it should have the same laws on issues such as abortion that the rest of the UK does. Shockingly, the current NI law is more draconian than the law just passed in Alabama.
