Protect and enshrine the right to a safe abortion in the UK
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
In the wake of a massive restriction on bodily autonomy in the states and increased legal persecution of LGBT and women across the world, we would like the UK government to guarantee the absolute protection of the access to a legal, safe abortion as a British civilian right.
According to WHO, at least 22,800 women die from illegal abortions every year. We've fought hard for women's rights in this country and we must protect the rights we have won above all else.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand that you would like reforms to abortion law, but are not sure what reforms you would like.
