Petition · past parliament
Establish a public inquiry into financial support given to Nigel Farage MEP.

What the petition asks
Nigel Farage has admitted to receiving significant amounts of financial support but claims it was ‘a personal and nothing to do with politics.’ However, he has received this financial support while remaining an MEP from the UK and remaining engaged in politics and public life.
The public inquiry should investigate financial support given to Farage during his time as an MEP from the UK, including the financial support given to him post the 2016 EU referendum, looking into the ethics and legalities of the financing and whether it contributed to or influenced his role as an MEP and overall political engagement.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. MEPs' expenses and declarations of interest are a matter for the European Parliament.
