What the petition asks
In De Facto terms, thousands of European Citizens have been denied the right to vote in 2019, and the response of the Electoral Commission [1] has been unacceptable.
As those tasked with upholding the rights of peoples from all nationalities in the UK, Parliament must respond with an enquiry.
As those tasked with upholding the rights of peoples from all nationalities in the UK, Parliament must respond with an enquiry.
The enquiry should be conducted with the fullest rigor under terms set out in the 2005 Public Inquiries Act.
Failing this, EU citizens will be forced to reach out to the EUCtHR and the EHRC, which is a situation we do not want as a nation.
Please respond by launching an enquiry with the utmost urgency: we cannot allow our standards on Human Rights & Responsibility to Protect slip.
