What the petition asks

If a Prime Minister leaves office during the lifetime of a Parliament for any reason their successor must call a General Election within 6 months to seek a fresh mandate from the electorate.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

To hold a general election when there is a change of Prime Minister in office.
