What the petition asks
Just this year 22,000lbs of rubbish collected from the summit dumped by irresponsible climbers.
It has become a ridiculous paordy of the first world problem and insta culture.
Preserve this wonder of the natural world, view it from Google Earth.

Climbers are having a negative impact on the environmental integrity of the summit.
Pair this with 11 climbers dead this year alone and reports of one team dangerously pushing past other climbers in a race to the summit for their own ego boost.
All of these tourists are putting rescue teams at risk and preventing genuine rescues taking place. If they can not be rescued they are left in place, creating additional issues logistically and environmentally. Let's resolve all of these by closing it.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because it's about something that the UK Government or Parliament isn't responsible for.
The granting of permits to climb Mount Everest is the responsibility of the Nepalese and Chinese Governments.
You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government to express concern to those Governments about the number of permits issued if that is something you would like to see happen.
