Petition for KFC to invest in paper straws instead of plastic

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Many coffee chains, restaurants, bars and even fast-food agencies such as McDonald's have introduced paper straws in opposition to the standard plastic.I believe that in order for this movement to continue, it is important to encourage other chains to follow suit, starting with KFC.
In England, we use an estimated 8.5 billion plastic straws each year according to government figures. If this figure is lowered by the recycling of paper alternatives, it would help prevent plastic pollution; protecting our oceans.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This would be a decision for KFC and not the UK Government or Parliament.
