Introduce free menstrual cups into schools & food banks to reduce envir. impact

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

What if we could tackle period poverty & the environmental impact of single use sanitary products?

No-one should need to chose between eating/attending school or personal hygiene.

By giving out free menstrual cups to women & girls in schools & food banks, this would no longer be an issue.
The government have introduced free sanitary products to reduce period poverty but what if they could also reduce the environmental impact?

On average, 1 female will use around 11,000 tampons in their life, Which ends up in landfill/sea/beaches.

1 menstrual cup can last many years & would reduce sanitary waste that is created.

Menstrual cups are a safe an eco-friendly alternative to tampons & towels.

Its time to change the cycle of single use sanitary products.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Free menstrual cup given to all 11 year old girls to eliminate period poverty.

Food banks aren't run by the UK Government or Parliament. You could start a new petition calling for the Government to provide free menstrual cups for anyone getting benefits instead if that is something you would to see happen.
