Ensure no child is excluded from the NHS BCG vacination programme.

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Increased risk of TB means newborns are vaccinated from birth. Older children are no longer being vaccinated. Parents are required to have their older children immunised privately at a cost of £120. All under 16s should be offered protection from TB under the NHS immunisation programme.
High TB rate = 40/100,000 or higher. If it is deemed that the rate is high enough to immunise at up to one month then all under 16s should be offered the same protection. To not do is negligence. Furthermore it is excluding those who are not financially able to ensure the health of their children.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition if you would like the BCG vaccination to be mandatory for all under-16s.
