All animal cruelty to become a criminal offence

What the petition asks
It’s proven that animals have feelings, emotions and feel pain, whether its our most loved dog, cat , horse, donkey, cow, pig or any animal. Social media has heightened how human beings are abusing animals in the worse possible way. It’s time this stops, animals feel as we do. Make it a crime now!
Animal rescue charities prove the disgusting abuse animals endure. Thank god for Battersea dog and cats home and all our other rescue centres here and around the world. Abuse needs to stop now !!
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
It is already an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to any animal, so we're not sure what else you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Anyone who is cruel to an animal, or does not provide for its welfare needs, may be banned from owning animals, fined up to £20,000 and/or sent to prison.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
