What the petition asks
People who aspire to rule over us should be able to demonstrate competencies beyond politics, together with experience in the real world. A minimum work experience requirement could increase the capacity of the House of Commons to work collaboratively in the national interest.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the selection of parliamentary candidates is the responsibility of political parties and not the UK Government or Parliament.
