What the petition asks
To reduce emissions more people must travel by public transport. Bus fares for families can be very expensive and does not encourage bus use and can drive families into transport poverty. Some areas have low concessionary fares but these are not fairly distributed across the UK.
In Swansea a child will need to pay £3.60 for a journey of 4 miles. Day ticket adult £4.50 (on app £4.20), Child £3.60 – 1 adult and two children £11.20, family ticket £12.50.
