Ban the use of fireworks at private functions in residential areas
Rejected
17 signatures
What the petition asks
The use of fireworks by hotels for weddings and other private functions is extravagant and memorable for guests but the community in the local area suffer from the disruption and anxiety it causes children, pets and farm animals.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about fireworks, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure if you're concerned about hotels using fireworks or private use of fireworks more broadly.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could call for a ban on private firework displays and a restriction to public displays only, if that's what you'd like to happen.
