Require cervix checks in early pregnancy to highlight risk of preterm birth

What the petition asks
Short/incompetent cervix can lead to early birth. The UK is the country among the highest rate of stillborn babies due to prematurity in Europe, other countries are more aware of this and do routine cervix checks during pregnancy to reduce stillbirth/preterm births
Our son Juan Carlos was born at 24 weeks due to a short cervix and died 44 days after due to NEC “baby killer illness”.
His early birth could have easily been avoided if the measures to diagnose and treat short cervix had been in place and implemented.
It’s not acceptable that a 1st world country like the U.K. has the highest mortality rate in stillbirths due to prematurity when measures are being implemented in other countries like Spain and Sweden to treat this and are proven to work.
