What the petition asks
When a political party elects a new leader, through party MPs and members of their own party, they should instantly be subject to a general election so that the rest of the country can elect that leader as Prime Minister or not, rather than them just ascend to the premiership.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
