What the petition asks
It is profoundly undemocratic to have party leaders elected by party members who make up a small proportion of the population. Party members tend not to be representative of the country as a whole which is why they elect leaders who represent their more extreme views.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
