What the petition asks
In the race to be Prime Minister of our great county, it is right and proper that Boris Johnson be mandated to face the electorate in a televised debate in his contest with Jeremy Hunt. The will of the people demands it. Avoidance is not a leader’s strategy.
With woefully sketchy past performances in public office, the people have the right to present and deliberate on whether Johnson is ‘fit and able’ to lead the United Kingdom.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This would be a personal decision for Boris Johnson, and not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
