What the petition asks
Make public and private renting much easier especially for non rich members of the public and animal owners. Make it illegal for landlords or estate agents and add clauses to discriminate against cat owners, dog owners or any other pet owners or their past landlords references or bad credit ratings.
Make renting properties for non rich people, pet owners 100% easier. Make it mandatory to prevent landlords, estate agents etc to reject tenants based on their past reference history, bad credit ratings or guarantor or of they have just started a job or not. Acceptance of a tenants application should be based on first come, first served and a rental applicant can pay the rent in advance and has a 'rent insurance policy and a damage to the landlords insurance policy in place. STOP DISCRIMINATION.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you're concerned about renting but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to. We're not sure what you mean by "non-rich" people and we're not sure what action you'd like to see to make rents more affordable and prevent discrimination against animal owners.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, a petition calling for the law to prevent landlords from refusing to rent property to people because they own pets, if that's what you'd like to happen.
