Public inquiry into the handling of historic sexual abuse cases.

Closed 313 signatures

What the petition asks

The current system for investigating historic sexual abuse cases is diabolical. The system needs overhauling.
The public inquiry should look into:

(i) whether there should be a statute of limitation for accusations to be filed
(ii) interviews with prosecution and defence witnesses
(iii) whether officers are maintaining standards in each case
(iv) the types of evidence gathered and used
(v) use of compensation and counselling

This list is not exhaustive in any way.
