What the petition asks
Many teachers of the 21st century, don’t know how to deal with situations surrounding the LGBTQIA+ community, this may include: wrongly naming a student by their deadname (birth-name), and treating them different compared to their peers in a harmful way.
By giving teachers mandatory training to help prevent these situations, it can greatly decrease the risk in self-harm and suicide. This will benefit the child greatly; they won’t have to face as much stigma surround their chosen gender or sexuality as they do today.
