What the petition asks
The NHS is struggling to cope due to many preventable diseases (mostly due to to obesity, smoking, and alcohol abuse). Many health problems could be caught early and even totally prevented with comprehensive yearly health checks. A preventive approach is the only way to save the future of our NHS.
There are other countries that already use these checks to help prevent disease, save lives and money.
Japan has some of the best results for life expectancy in the world. In Japan, yearly health checks grade your health in an easy to understand format and help people understand what needs to be done in order to avoid further problems.
Preventing disease needs to become the focus of our healthcare system, in order for it to cope with the growing demand and issue of lifestyle diseases.
