What the petition asks
The media in the UK influences a lot of decision making, shaping opinions and thoughts that ultimately are seen in voting, purchasing and interactions between people. Regardless of which newspaper and political leaning, all newspapers are responsible, in part, for the actions of their readers.
Whilst the Independent Press Standards Organisation [https://www.ipso.co.uk/] exists, its authority ensures only that an apology is made and does not mandate to the size or positioning of the apology.
The UK people deserve a media that is responsible to its readers and reports the truth, not lead any agenda that influences unfairly. Whilst bias is expected in reporting, the misuse of information / erroneous fabrications that has been published needs to be addressed and the public made aware.
