What the petition asks

Before the age of 3 months a baby's immune system can't cope with the herpes simplex virus, which can lead to long term disabilities or could even be fatal. This is a very common virus that can be fatal for a baby, yet not enough information is provided by the NHS to pregnant women.

My daughter contracted this virus at 2 weeks old from being kissed by someone with a cold sore, she was in hospital for 3 weeks receiving treatment. Since then many have people expressed their concern about not knowing that this could be dangerous for a baby including healthcare professionals and those working in childcare. Lots have people have sadly lost their babies because of this lack of knowledge.
