Stop fines for school absences/lates due to disabilities or medical conditions.

What the petition asks
Local Authorities can now by law fine parents for unauthorised absences from school or persistent lateness. We are calling on the Government to alter the law to prevent Local Authorities fining parents when the absence is due to a Disability or Medical Condition whether physical or mental.
Parenting children with disabilities or medical condition can be difficult enough without the LA having the power to fine for lateness or absence from school.
Given the choice our children & their siblings would be in school everyday on time but we don't have that choice, allowances should be made for our children and their siblings in the case of lateness.
When parents are engaging with the schools and Local Authorities to try and find working solutions there should be no threat of a fine.
