Lower vet charges

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Lower vet charges, its disgusting what vets are allowed to charge, if you dont pay what they want they refuse to treat your animal, this is a disgrace and should be made illegal,
I was recently charged £190 to wrap a bandage around my dogs foot as he snapped a claw and it was bleeding really badly, I was told if I didnt pay £149 just for them to see him they would not treat him just leave him to bleed, this is an absolute disgrace and should be changed, if it was a human you would be jailed

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Veterinary fees are set by vets themselves, not the Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition calling for a clear action that is the responsibility of the Government or Parliament, for example calling for a review a vets fees or for legislation to cap certain types of vets fees.

There's already a petition about vets prescription fees, which you might like to sign:

Make the cost of Vets prescriptions a standard fee.
