What the petition asks
Research by Prospect shows that female pensioners receive nearly 40% less pension income than male pensioners. This is unfair and more needs to be done to address it. Government should have to report to Parliament annually about the level of the gender pension gap and its plans for tackling it.
More information about the gender pension gap can be found from Prospect's website:

A statutory requirement for government to report to Parliament about the gender pension gap is crucial to giving this issue the prominence it deserves and generating support for practical policies to tackle it.
