What the petition asks
For years, cars and cycles have been using parts of Shortlands Road, Sittingbourne illegally. We are petitioning that the road lay out is re designed so ensure the flow of traffic goes the right way and combats the accidents and abuse residents get when we challenge drivers going the wrong way.
Police have been issuing tickets to drivers who have been seen by residents and reported, but have said it is a short term fix for a long term problem.
Kcc have no funding and have said police need to keep enforcing tickets.
Swae council have said it is down to KCC highways and police.
