Allow for the prescription of gender-affirming treatments through GPs.

What the petition asks

Currently, the NHS approach to transgender healthcare is incredibly lacking in both funding and scope with patient numbers rising 15-100% per annum. This is a failure to all patients with wait times ranging from 13-30+ months for initial appointments, breaching the NHS 18 weeks targets.
The current approach to transgender healthcare is dangerous and the GICs only serves to cause more harm and distress to a demographic at serious risk of mental health issues and suicide.
GICs have little chance of caring for all these patients and private medical care is also becoming harder to get. A change in the approach to transgender healthcare must come soon or the service will keep failing patients.
